Design Problem
Crews were losing valuable crane hours due to unclear delivery timing and communication breakdowns between fabrication, dispatch, and site leads. This tool aimed to streamline delivery scheduling for CLT and glulam installs by providing real-time visibility into available windows and load status.
Design Problem
The interface allowed lead hands or site coordinators to coordinate delivery times with crane availability and installation steps visually. Although lightweight, the tool replaced email chains and manual spreadsheets, acting as a single reference point for all teams. It was created for use in remote or low-connectivity settings with straightforward tablet access.
Reflection
This project enhanced my understanding of how digital tools must align with physical site conditions. Every pixel needed to justify its existence. Working backward from site crew needs guided me toward more straightforward and accessible UI choices, clarifying my role as a designer working within real-world constraints.
